Basically the majority of the people in Mexico and Latin American Country’s grow up
listening to Latin Music, (Day and Night), and so did I, (if I wanted it or not).
In my first Rock Bands, and because in Mexico in the 60s there was no original Rock
Music, we transcribed, copied and played the Music from Bands like: The Yardbirds, Elvis Presley, The Beach Boys, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Bill Haley,
Alvin Lee, The Animals, Chuck Berry, Diana Ross and The Supremes, Credence Clear-
water Revival, The Guess Who, Moody Blues, Aretha Franklin, Joe Cocker, Donovan,
Procol Harum, The Fifth Dimension, The Band, Van Morrison, Union Gap, Bob Dylan,
Simon & Garfunkel, Peter-Paul & Mary, The Doors, Little Richard, Wilson Picket,
Otis Redding, Iron Butterfly, Dionne Warwick, The Temptations, Led Zeppelin and the
Greatest Jimi Hendrix, of course among some others.
In the 70s, my Rock experience continued with new different Bands where we played
for example the Music from Bands like: Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Cream, Blind Faith, Chicago, Blood-Sweat & Tears, Eric Burdon,
King Crimson, Sly & The Family Stone, Earth-Wind & Fire, Gladys Knight & The Pipes,
The Temptations, The Isley Brothers, Janis Joplin, Carole King, Rod Stewart, The Who,
Traffic, Pink Floyd, Crosby/Stills/Nash & Joung, Jethro Tull, Emerson-Lake & Palmer,
John Mayal, James Brown, Santana, Stevie Wonder, Deep Purple, Frank Zappa, Black
Sabbath, Johnny Winter, Mike Bloomfield, Funkadelic, Tower of Power and Weather
Report, to name a few including also some Funk Music.
